Lostwithiel Bowling Club is 100 years old this year, having been established in 1926.  No matter whether you are a seasoned bowler or just starting out, why not come along and help us celebrate our Centenary ?  We are a friendly and inclusive bowls club which welcomes players of all ages and abilities, so whether you are ultra-competitive or merely seeking some gentle exercise in a welcoming environment, Lostwithiel Bowling Club will offer you the warmest of warm welcomes.

Set in the idyllic grounds of the Duchy estate between Restormel Castle and the former Lostwithiel Golf Club, the Club green is surely one of the finest in the county, perfectly manicured by our in-house team of groundsmen led by Chris Dimond. On a warm summer’s day there can surely be no better place in which to spend your off-duty hours — buzzards can frequently be seen overhead, swallows nest in the eaves of the Clubhouse (itself built by Club members, led by Charles Briese), and a white-tailed sea eagle has twice been seen following the path of the Fowey river.

The Club has a well-appointed bar (manned by volunteers, of course), a recently refurbished kitchen, and the whole place is kept spotlessly clean by Club members who take it in turns to hoover the carpets and refill the consumables.

If you are tempted, why not come along to one of our taster sessions on 2nd May from 10:00 to 13:00 or 3rd May 13:00 to 16:00. But if you cannot make one of these taster sessions, we are also running “open evenings” on the second and fourth Fridays of every month from June to September inclusive, starting at 18:00.
